Situated in the North West corner of Spain this region of 19,000 square mile is divided into four provinces. A Coruna, Lugo, Ourense and Pontevedra. The total population of this region is 3,000,000.
Santiago de Compostela is known as the third most important pilgrimage destination.
Lugo is encircled by Roman walls and is a recognised World Heritage sight.
Temperatures are mild, between 18?c and 25?c in the summer and no lower than 8?c in winter.

The area offers great variety of seafood such as hake, grouper turbot, octopus, oysters, lobsters and scallops to name but a few! Try the Queimada, a potent but famous liqueur.

Enjoy the Rapa des Bestas Festival in July, when wild horses are gathered for branding and to have manes and tails cut, or the Ribeiro wine celebration in Ribadavia, Ourense every May.
