Getting Started

1. You will need to have up to five of the best photo's of your property. If you wish, you can add a small map or photo's of the surrounding area's - whichever you feel will best sell your accommodation to the viewer. These will need to be in either .gif or .jpg format. Alternatively, you can send your photos to us and we will scan them in for you. See FAQs for more details.
2. A short description of the property is required. This is what the viewer will see within the listing of properties when they have searched for their requirements. Up to a maximum of 20 words, this text should entice the viewer to click on YOUR property to find out more. A thumbnail photo will show at this time as well.
3. You can write up to 3 paragraph's of text to describe your property, the surrounding area and things to do locally. Write about anything you feel the viewer will find interesting or important about their purchase/holiday. The important point here is not to write too much. The viewer will quickly know if they are captured by it or not.
4. We will ask for minimum and maximum prices for your property. You can add these in British pounds, US Dollars or Euro's and they will automatically be converted to show all 3 currencies on your property page.
5. Property and local facilities together with the changeover day will be required together with activities which are 'not allowed' within your premises.
6. How the viewer finds you are equally important. Advanced searches will allow you to be found by 'Country', 'Region', 'how many the property sleeps' and 'accommodation type'. You will automatically be registered within these searches. However, you will have a choice of being listed under 'type of holiday' (applicable to holiday homes only, not sales properties). Holidaymakers sometimes do not mind where they go - they would rather search by activity/type. You will have the choice of being listed under certain categories. Please consider which type(s) your property really falls under. It will not help to be listed wrongly to a viewer who is looking for something specific.
7. Lastly, you can choose how to accept enquiries. You will be asked if you would like to 'publish your contact details on-line'. This will mean that your Name, Tel number and e-mail (if all applicable) will be published on your property page for the viewer to see. This means that they can contact you quickly and personally. If you prefer not to publish your private details on-line, do not tick the box. The viewer will, instead, submit a form with their details and requirements which will be forwarded both to Gecko Getaways and YOUR e-mail address.
