Q:How do I add a property? [01/06/04]
A:Your account details are input via our easy to use forms.
Choose your package and tick the box (1, 2 or 3 Properties) and pay on-line by credit card via the secure service. (Cheque payments are also accepted, however, the payment must clear before the webpage can be made live to the site)
Text and photos for the property(s) can then be added and submitted to the site.
Once payment is cleared, the submitted details will be checked by Gecko Getaways and then uploaded to the site.
Login and password is sent to you via e-mail for entry into the private advertisement details.
Once logged on, you can amend property/contact details, review statistics,add more properties or pay for further subscription.
Each contract is for a 12 month period (Terms & Conditions available here)
For a limited time, we are also offering 1 and 6 month contracts, due to demand.

Q:What do I get when advertising with Gecko Getaways? [08/06/04]
A:
  • A full page on the website per property for your advertisement - This includes up to 5 photo's, property and area descriptions and a shortlist of the features of your property so people can see them at a glance
  • You can choose to categorise your property into a holiday/property type, such as 'Family Friendly', 'golf' or 'countryside'. This will help to entice more holidaymakers to your property.
  • Enquiries will come directly to you via e-mail, with all relevent details included. Holidaymakers/buyers have the choice to fill in either a booking enquiry form or a short enquiry form on the website, ensuring that you have all the relevent information to hand when replying to them. You also have a weblink to your property webpage, if you have one (this should present only the property(s) advertised on the Gecko website)
  • When submitting your prices, they will be automatically converted and shown in British Pounds, Euro's and American Dollars on your advert, by the click of a button.
  • A 'send to a friend' facility that will enable holidaymakers to send the link and reference of your property to their friends and family
  • Our very easy to use upload and management system means that you can upload your property anytime and pay on-line. You will recieve a login and password which will enable you to view your property details anytime, update and amend any details that may change without any further cost and view visitor statistics to your page. You can also view any enquiries that have been made about your property and extend your membership at any time.
  • Finally, you will be benefitting from Gecko Getaways extensive marketing techniques which will mean more people viewing YOUR property(s)........

Q:How will I know if the advertising is working? [08/06/04]
A:You can view the statistics of how many people have looked at your property page once you have logged into your private area. You can also view each booking enquiry made to your property by Name, date, Town and Country.

Q:What type of photo's can I upload? [08/06/04]
A:Please remember to keep file sizes as low as possible and only upload web compatible file formats (i.e. .gif, .jpg, or .png). The standard size of image on your page will be 190 pixels wide. Although our system will automatically re-size the image for you, it is more efficient if you could ensure that the image you upload is already 190 pixels wide.When uploading your photo's to the website, our technology will re-size them automatically to suit the template for your advert.

Q:How can I pay for my advert? [08/06/04]
A:CREDIT CARD You can pay on-line with a credit card via Worldpay's secure server. You can also pay over the telephone - call us on: 0870 7412700.

CHEQUE Payment can be made by cheque, made payable to 'Gecko Ltd'. Please send to: 1391 London Road, Leigh-on-Sea, Essex SS9 2SA. Please note that your advertisement will not be uploaded live to the website until payment has cleared

BANK TRANSFER Please ask for payment details....

Q:Once I have uploaded my property, when will my advert be live on the website? [08/06/04]
A:Your advert will be quality checked by Gecko Getaways and uploaded live to the site within 1-5 working days from when you submit your details

Q:Can I update my property details anytime? [08/06/04]
A:Yes you can, as many times as you like and at no extra cost to you. Once you have logged into your property area, you can change photo's, text, swop properties around and view statistics for your properties. You can even upgrade your package or renew your membership on-line.

Q:Can I completely change the property that I advertise? [08/06/04]
A:Yes, you can. Once you log into your property area, you can replace the property details with a new one.

Q:Can two or more properties be added to a property page? [08/06/04]
A:No. In no circumstances should two properties be added to one advert. These pages are designed by a template specifically for one property alone. Should you wish to advertise more than one property, we have a number of price packages to suit.

Q:I am not sure about the technicalities of adding my own properties - is it easy? [08/06/04]
A:Gecko Getaways takes time and care to research perfecting it's upload and management systems, ensuring that it is 'customer friendly' to use. The forms to complete for adding a property use lots of prompts to ensure you do not forget anything and there are 'how to' notes to follow. However, if, at anytime you are having difficulty uploading your details, please contact us and we will be happy to help you from there.

Q:How does the flyer service work? [08/06/04]
A:There are just a few steps to getting your flyers…….

You will be presented with a set of templates to suit varied tastes. You can view them here

Choose your favourite template from the six choices

If you are advertising with us as well, we can organise a flyer from the details and photos that we hold for you - it's as simple as that!

If you do not advertise with us, the process is easy:

Complete our order form and template boxes with your chosen text - we will send you the forms via post or e-mail

Sign and date the form and send back to us in the SAE provided with a 25% deposit (cheque) or Credit/Debit Card details and the photo’s you wish to have scanned (if you wish to use digital photo’s or photo’s stored on your computer, please e-mail them to us separately to flyer@geckogetaways.com in J-peg or Tiff format)

On receipt of your information, we will complete your design and send a copy in the post for you to peruse and sign off for print. You can also use fax to sign off. Please return to us with the remaining balance (cheque). If you have given us Credit/Debit Card details, we will charge the card the final balance of payment at this point.

We will then complete the print run and post your flyers to you, first class, once payment is cleared.

A:Flyer design and print prices vary depending on the paper used and the quantity printed. Our minimum order is 50 flyers.

Prices start from 4p* per flyer, including design and print.

*based on an order of 200 flyers, printed on budget paper

Q:Why does Gecko Getaways check the adverts before uploading them as 'live' to the website [23/06/04]
A:To ensure quality control of the website. It ensures that advertisements of bad quality or of a defamatory nature are not shown on the site. We also like to be aware of who is advertising with us and the properties they have, in case we have some suggestions or idea's for them.
We also check adverts randomly from time to time to ensure the high standard level is kept up.
We take great pride in offering a quality service, advertising quality properties and services and want YOU to gain the best out of your rentals or sales.

Q:Why are your advertising packages based on a yearly contract? [23/06/04]
A:Because, from research, we understand that people book their holidays year round. They may book in November for the following July or book in July for the next month. We offer year round marketing for your properties to ensure that you are getting the maximum exposure for your properties
With regard to Sales properties, people are buying year round abroad.
Advertising in this way keeps our Administration costs down which we pass onto you in our low prices.
However, for a limited time, we are offering 1 month and 6 month contracts as well, due to demand.

Q:Why do you backdate advertisement charges when a contract runs out, if I do not pay straight away? [23/06/04]
A:Because we still hold your properties in our database once your contract runs out Our billing system is set this way to allow for easy control and no mistakes. If we had to administrate setting up contracts at different dates manually, using more staff, we would have to pass this expense on to our customers and our prices would go up significantly.
Our prices are set very low for this service because of the structure of our business.

Q:We have our own website - can we advertise the weblink on our property pages? [05/07/04]
A:Yes, as long as the website only advertises the property(s) as advertised on the Gecko website. We cannot link to a website that advertises other properties as it would be unfair to our other paying advertiser's
